Etsy and Nature Necklaces

Because it has been so long since my last update and for staying active on both of my shops, I first had to take a look at how Etsy is working again these days. I have learned that a lot has changed in the past year. You don't get to see products on the front page of the website anymore and they changed the algoritm for searching products on the website. Because of this, I have a couple of things on my mind:

- Having a good look at the SEO of your listings, search engine optimization
- Renewing lots of listing at once is a waste of time and money since this new change

I took a good look at my own shop and decided to change some things. I changed the titles of many products and made sure that I used all tags. I will not renew listings like I used to. Back in the day you would recieve lots of views while renewing a list of items, but with this change the amount of views decreased.
I will only renew listings when they expire or just add new listings.

But most importantly is, working on an update on my own website :) Hopefully I will finish it soon.

In the meantime I created some new glass dome cabs necklaces:

Autumn Leave Necklace

Spring Necklace

Vintage Feather Necklace

You can find these online.

Glitter resin jewels

I started my little shop with suede ribbons as accessoire part of the necklaces but I won't use those anymore; it's a new year and it's time for some new jewel accessoires. I bought silvertone chains; with the photography it's faster to list items , with suede ribbons I always had to dot little white dust away in photoshop. But not anymore since yesterday! Here are a couple of some new items that i've been working on:

Dark blue sparkling glitter resin necklace

Turquoise sparkling glitter resin necklace

These new shimmering items change colors in golden, green, leu, silver when you move the necklaces.

New Listings

It has been weeks since I've made some new items, but this last weekend I've changed that and got busy with resin again:

Feather in Resin

Haunted House

These two new necklaces are available in my Etsy shop and in the next couple of days I will list some more items I've been working on.

I'm back

It has been a while but I'm busy working on my website and other stuff.
I'm sick and tired of paying fees on Etsy everytime I'm listing new items or renew stuff and I always wanted my own webshop so I'm hoping to finish it one of these days and present it to you all :)

FrontPage

Two days ago I made a treasury named: Men at work.
It was 1 of my better treasuries and this one went straight to the frontpage :)
All this time I thought that only a select group of curators could make it into the frontpage but I got it wrong, so take a look:

Now I will definetely make some more theme-treasuries

Leo Treasury

This is one of my favorite treasuries:
Leo
And it'n not because my Leo pendant is included in this one or that my sign is Leo but the whole picture with different items fits together perfectly!
I like the colors golden orange, yellow and red in it, It makes this treasury complete:

Thx Fairyfolk for creating this treasury.

Embedded Green Resin tile

Say Hi! to my other recreated pendant; The scrabble shape tile in resin.

Remember I talked about failures on creating my own scrabble tiles ? Well this is the final result after sanding and polishing. I hate doing it but love the way how it shines and it's smoothness after the proces.

I work with polyester resin and the difference between epoxy and polyester is: polyester keeps its shinyness while epoxy resin always looks dull after sanding and polishing.

Also this pendant is available on my shop

Crushed resin chips pendant

I've listed some new items on my shop

Crushed resin pieces in resin :

I like the way you can look threw this pendant with the looks of pieces of fruit in it. This pendant is an example of one of my other resin creation "failures". Although, it wasn't really a failure but I just didn't know what to do with the 3 layers of colored resin shaped as a bubble cabochon. So I smashed the thing and I recreated a new pendant.

And it's available at my shop

My latest creations

I've worked on 3 dried flowers in resin , dried moss in pink resin and my ladybug cabochon. They are finally sanded and ready to place in an open pendant. It took me 2 hours to sand them :/ Sanding is the worst part of making resin jewels.

And it keeps going...

...here's another treasury list called Dried Flowers by thepurplepainter
I have to be careful not getting used to this. Someday it could/will stop :)

My item is in the first row fourth picture, yes again the flower pendant :)

Etsians are such great people

A while ago there was a topic on the forum of Etsy about helping several undiscovered shop collections too the Front Page.
And Hiyapapaya just made a treasury called "NO SALES YET!! Found these great UNDISCOVERED shops!!" and I am on it and happy with it!! :)
I hope it helps me and so many other undiscovered shops to finally having that first sale ;)
So please help click and twitter it too the Front Page :D

This time my item is on the fourth row, thirth column.

My second treasury item !!

One of my items, a round pendant made it again in a treasury list :D
It's the black round pendant with shells and rocks on a layer of blue colored resin.
This time it went straight to the front page of Etsy :D
I had lots and lots of views !! Almost 400 and lots of hearts. That felt good :) Thk you DawnCorrespondence.

My little ladybug

This one is still in progress. A ladybug shaped drawing pin placed on some potpourri leaves and domed in clear resin. I love this one the most. Its so beautiful ! I cut of the pin ofcourse or it would become a painfull pendant. But I still need to sand it first. It's too big for my 25mm round pendant setting.
I use polyester resin for all my pieces. It stinks but with measuring the hardener and the resin its less difficult than epoxy resin and it gives all of the pieces a real glasslike and very shiny look. Epoxy resin has a mat finishing look, its less shiny.
And in the end I polish the piece with polishing wax and the smell goes away.
You can find your own resin kit here.

Little red hearts

This is also one of my latest masterpieces: red hearts domed in clear resin with a white background. You can see the hearts "float" in the clear resin layer by the shade they create on the white background .... mmm was that even an English sentence? Oh well, I hope you understand it anyway :D You can find it in my Etsy shop as well.
