Work in Progress: Dried Flower Leafs

When I reproduce an out-of-stock resin cabochon I always also think about new creations. Cause I don't want to spill resin.
This summer and spring I took walks in the park when I had the time and collected different kinds of dried out flowers and leafs.
I wish I knew the names of these plants :(
But here are some dried examples.

In the next pictures u see dried leafs/flowers casted in resin and ready to sand/polish.

And here you see an almost finished necklace. I still need to sand this one but the size was perfect for taking pictures.

My Biggest Hobby

... is reading! And I finally have the time to just sit down, relax and read again after ... wayyy to long!!
At the moment I'm reading this book: "In my dreams" / "In mijn dromen" from the author Simone van der Vlugt, one (of many) of my favorite authors.
And I'm planning on catching up on the other books from her as well.

New Handmade Jewelry

I worked again on some new jewelry.
This time I worked with flat glass and tiny pendants. Size of the pendants are 2 cm / 4.5" in diameter.
The length of the chains are 40 cm.

Colorful Umbrellas Street

The Umbrella Sky by photographer Patricia Almeida. The pictures are taken in Agueda , a town in Portugal, during the month of July, streets are often adorned with colorful parasols that are artfully hung and provide minor shade for pedestrians.

 

 

 

Sewing Experience: Vouw Portemonnee

Vandaag heb ik aan 2 projectjes gewerkt. Twee minizakjes en een portemonnee.
De twee minizakjes zijn niet helemaal gelukt zoals ik het graag had gewild maar toch laat ik het resultaat zien.
Het minizakjes idee komt van HomemadeByNancy en de tutorial van SeeKateSew. Het zag er zoooo leuk ik, ik moest dat ook gewoon proberen en kroop weer achter de naaimachine ... het leek zo simpel maar brrr ... wat heb ik me vergist.

De flap is groter dan het zakje zelf en alles loopt nogal scheef. Er hoort nog een knoopje aan maar ik heb me de moeite bespaart. Ondanks dat ben ik op zoek gegaan naar nog meer naai project tutorials en vond een interessante op Modest Maven: een vouw portemonnee Een stuk ingewikkelder project leek het maar ben meteen aan de slag gegaan.... maar viel het wel mee! EN Ik kan eindelijk zeggen dat ik trots ben op  het resultaat :D De portemonnee bevat een vak voor papiergeld en vakjes voor bankpassen en is dicht te krijgen via een drukknoop of een gewone knoop.
